I Fell in a Hole...And Karen Dembsky Pulled Me Out!!

It never ceases to amaze me that the members of AR and SIF especially are such incredibly generous and giving people. So many blogs have been posted by others thanking those who have helped them in some way or another and I hope it never ends. I want to continue to encourage this generous spirit by posting one of those thank-you-blogs myself.

Here is my story (the latest, anyway):

I decided to put together a 'Staging Partner" package to give to all of my present and future partner agents that included certain marketing materials that they could use to promote staging as one of their standard services. It seemed like an easy enough task and I was chugging along nicely until I got to the last piece - the piece that I had purposely saved for last because I considered it the most important - the benefits page.

This is the page that lists all of the perks and advantages they would get when referring to me. I wanted it to be just right and got myself so stressed out about it that I caused a total creativity meltdown. I got half way through the page and stalled completely. I couldn't even think of what the benefits of working with me could be! I stared at that stupid page for 3 days.

After much agony and dismay I decided I either had to scrap the idea entirely or I had to find someone to knock me upside the head and get me going again. So, who should I call with my wording and directional issues? The first person I thought of was Mrs. A to Z herself - Karen Dembsky. If anyone knows how to word something correctly, it's Karen.

I emailed her in my hour of despair, sending her my pathetic attempt and begging her to save me from myself. Just as I had hoped, she emailed me rather quickly and gave me some pointers. But, she didn't stop there! She called me this afternoon and discussed my blockage in more detail. Then (insert heavenly angels singing here) she offered to finish writing it for me!!! What a gift that was!!

Not too long after, I got the most perfectly worded 2 paragraphs I could have ever hope for. I can certainly tell you I COULD NOT HAVE WRITTEN IT BETTER MYSELF!!

Thank you, Karen Dembsky for pulling me out of my self induced hole, dusting me off an putting me back to rights! I could not have finished this project without you!

If any of you are struggling with something (anything) reach out to someone here in the 'Rain. You will be glad you did!! I am so impressed by the helpfulness of everyone here that I have promised myself that I will never let myself fall into such a hole again. When I start to stumble, I will definitely put a hand out because I know there are others willing to catch me.
